Tyler Stephenson hit a three-run homer off Yankees rookie Elmer Rodríguez, scoring Nathaniel Lowe and Noelvi Marte. The swing gave the Reds a 3-1 lead.
Burns handled the rest. He allowed one earned run over five innings, struck out seven, walked three, and picked up the win. ESPN reported it was his eighth straight win.
New York stole six bases against Burns, but the Yankees scored only once while he was in the game.
Noelvi Marte added a ground-rule RBI double in the ninth, scoring Spencer Steer and making it 4-1.
