Cincinnati struck first in the first inning when Sal Stewart hit a solo homer to right, giving the Reds a 1-0 lead.
Milwaukee tied it in the second when Garrett Mitchell singled home Jake Bauers.
The Brewers took control in the fourth. Sal Frelick singled in William Contreras, Joey Ortiz followed with a two-run single, and Jackson Chourio added another RBI single to make it 5-1.
Bauers added a solo homer in the fifth. Cincinnati got one back in the sixth when Stewart doubled home Elly De La Cruz, but Chourio answered with a solo homer in the eighth.
Brandon Sproat earned the win after allowing two runs over 5.1 innings. Rhett Lowder took the loss after allowing six runs over 4.2 innings.
